After many months of having this idea in the back of my head… I finally got to produce this image and it was perfect for a class assignment.
The models are:
Kevin Nelson on the left, David Namminga(http://www.modelmayhem.com/1291740) on the right and I am in the middle.
Basically everything you see in the shot was either purchased or rented.
The almost final image!
It was an amazing shoot and we had a great time. I was nervous about how it might turn out, whether or not it would be like it was in my head. But I have to say, it is almost identical to what I had… What really made it was the fog machine I rented. I diffused the specular lights I was using and gave me the exact kind of edgelights I wanted without having to have a large softbox somewhere rigged to the roof or something.
Like usual, I used the amazing http://www.LunaBellaMakeupArt.com for hair and “makeup..” Their method of application included use of brass knuckles and baseball bats… Ha. Here is a before and after makeup shot.
Then, I must show you all the original RAW file.
The color, blood and dirt on the shirt and blood on the knuckles was done by yours truly while the spray of spit and blood was created by RetouchLab, http://www.modelmayhem.com/1378822 Their normal turn around is 3 days and RL was awesome to help me out and get it to me in just a few hours. I really appreciate that and the great job on making the spit look as real as possible. Thanks Okan!
Almost forgot to mention, but we also shot a little short film trailer that is turning out pretty well, so expect to see that in the near feature.
