Running and Lighting in Santa Barbara, Test Shoot

The other day, I got a few ideas for a photo shoot… Obviously, I have been shooting a lot of sports lately so I figured I would setup some photos. So, I convinced my girlfriend to be my model for a couple of test shots to see if my ideas would work. I wanted to involve lighting to make the runner pop out of a landscape shot. I have… probably 15 more locations in mind for this same kind of thing where I will probably get a model and a couple of assistants to really make it work. But for now, here are the test shots we shot this evening.

Equipment,
Canon 5d Mark II w/ 17-40
Hensel Porty 1200ws battery powered strobes.
A ladder.

I was mostly trying to figure out some interesting angles, so once we had a nice setup I moved up, down and around. Let me know which angle you prefer. Also, the lighting isn’t perfect, it was a rough 15 minute setup as we were running low on time.
