Competitive Edge, 1vs1 Basketball, Feature

As I prepare to leave for Palo Alto(to shoot the 2009 national senior games) on Thursday(tomorrow)(yikes.) We were required to practice shooting sports of our choosing. Instead of going to an event and covering it, I tried something a little different. I wanted a moody interview of an athlete sort of as a feature. In the end, it looks more like an advertisement to me, but it works.

This is the first very, very rough cut. Still working on music and order. Wish I had a better lead in shot.

It was a fun shoot with two assistants, a couple players and me. We brought out a track dolly, glidecam hd-2000 and a bunch of other stuff like 5′x7′ reflectors and flashes for the pictures. I was amazed I managed to fit it all plus 2x 10′ lengths of PVC pipe in my little corolla.

Lenses used were
70-200 2.8
17-40 4
I think that is it.

Enjoy the Video. To watch in Full HD, go to Vimeo

Here a couple portraits shot with the 17-40 and a 580exII with shoot through umbrella.

Here is the Color Grade changes.

And the timelapse of the shoot
